Quite a few of our ladies (and a husband or two) meet to make fleece bears to be given to children. In April 2012 we delivered our first bears, 30 to St. Joseph Hospital and six bears in a basket for visitors to our building. Then we got busy for the next month’s delivery. NOW, in July 2015, we have delivered 155 a month to two hospitals, CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs and Saline County Hospital in Benton. Our bears are definitely getting around, even to Africa. The Breakfast with Santa program receives 75 to 100 each year. The basket in our foyer stays stocked for visiting children. Over 5,252 bears have been distributed to children through this ministry. Every bear is made with love and sent with prayers from Christian sisters who have a love for service to God. The group can always use more hands, and anyone is welcome to join us. We work individually in our home and come together to work at the church building the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
