Our Vision for Our Youth!

We are a community of young people striving to reflect the heart of Jesus. To have a heart like his means showing compassion to those in need, sharing the hope we’ve found in Christ, and serving others the way he served during his time on earth. So what does our ministry to families with youth look like?

Holistic

Our mission is to strengthen the entire family. Research consistently shows that parents are the greatest influence on a young person’s spiritual growth. Because of this, we refuse to treat parents and students as separate groups. When parents are supported, encouraged, and empowered, they become the most effective youth ministers in their children’s lives. Long after graduation, parents remain the steady presence shaping a young person’s faith. True, lasting spiritual development happens when parents are equipped to fulfill their most important calling—raising devoted followers of Jesus.

Intentional

Everything we do is driven by purpose. The VCOC Youth & Family Ministry is centered on the CROSS, and every event, activity, and ministry effort must align with that purpose. Nothing is random; everything is designed to point students and families toward Christ.

Multi-generational

We believe that teenagers thrive spiritually when surrounded by faithful adults. For that reason, we invite adults of all ages to serve as mentors and spiritual guides. Whether leading small groups, chaperoning trips, or teaching Bible classes, these adults play a vital role. Teens often seek wisdom from someone other than their parents, and our volunteers and ministry staff step into that space with God-centered guidance and love.

Eternal

Youth ministry is not defined by attendance numbers or weekly participation. its true measure is the spiritual health of a student years down the road. Our goal is to help young people build a relationship with Jesus that remains strong five years after graduation—and for the rest of their lives.
